1790: William Chillman married Sarah Bryant 13 July 1790 at St Mary-St Marylebone Rd, St Marylebone, London, England.
They moved to Leatherhead, Surrey where a substantial Chillman Family module had been established for several
generations.
They had one known son baptised at St. Nicholas Leatherhead;

Robert William Chillman [1790-1835] was born at Leatherhead Surrey 1790 [the son of William Chillman and his wife
Sarah].
1825: Robert William Chillman married Elizabeth Darton or Dalton on 9 January 1825 at St Olave’s Church, Hart Street,
London.
Elizabeth Darton/Dalton was born in the Parish of St Olave’s, Middlesex, London circa 1801.
The couple returned to Leatherhead after their marriage where their four children were born.

Child 1: Elizabeth Ann Chillman ' Eliza' born 8 April 1827
Child 2: Robert William Chillman born 30 August 1829 in Leatherhead.
Child 3: Sarah Chillman born about 1832 in Leatherhead
Child 4: Richard Chillman born 18 May 1834 in Leatherhead.
1830: Elizabeth now aged twenty-nine was witness to the
Will of Elizabeth Lucas of Leatherhead on the 11th February 1830.
Elizabeth's relationship with Elizabeth Lucas or if there is a tie to the Lucas Family is not known but it assumed they
were friends.
1835: Robert William Chilman was buried at St. Nicholas Leatherhead 2nd March 1835 recorded aged 45.

1837: After Robert Chillman (Snr) died [1835], Elizabeth [nee Darton/Dalton] married Thomas Chapman [born about
1806 in Dorking, Surrey] in Dec qtr 1837 in Guildford, Surrey.
Issue;
They had one child Mary Ann Chapman born Sept qtr 1838, in Leatherhead.
1841 [Census]
Elizabeth Chapman [formerly Chillman nee Darton/Dalton] – was living at "Gravel Hill Leatherhead" with her
husband Thomas Chapman, with a child by that marriage, and her four children from her previous marriage to
Robert Chillman.
1851-1861 [Census]:
They lived at Kingston Road, Leatherhead, Surrey, England between 1851-1861.
His occupation - labourer/labourer to plumber. Her occupation - needlewoman.
1871 [Census]:
Elizabeth Chapman [formerly Chillman nee Darton/Dalton], now twice widowed, was living at North Street,
Leatherhead, Surrey, with her son Richard Chillman (from her marriage to Robert Chillman), and Richard’s wife Mary.
Child 1: Elizabeth Ann Chillman ( Eliza) : of Robert William Chillman and Elizabeth nee Dalton;
Occupation 1851 census was Domestic Servant. No further information.
Child 2: Robert William Chillman : of Robert William Chillman and Elizabeth nee Dalton;

In the 1851 Census Robert, together with his brother Richard, was living at “White Wall House”, Sutton, Yorkshire,
and working as a stable boy for John Scott “a trainer of race horses”.
Robert William Chillman [the younger] married Ann Frankish at Hull, Yorkshire March qtr 1855.
They had one child, William Chillman born about 1859 in Yorkshire.
Robert died December qtr 1899 in Lambeth, Surrey. Occupation - coachman.

In 1851 Census Sarah was living at 485 Oxford Street, Bloomsbury, Middlesex, London and her occupation was shown
as “servant”.
Sarah Chillman married Edward Spink [born 5 June 1824 in Devonshire] on 11 March 1852 Register Office,
St Giles Parish, London and emigrated to Victoria in about 1854.
They had 4 children.
Child 1: Sarah Elizabeth Spink born about 1853
Child 2: Anna Spink born 7 November 1854 in Hepburn, Victoria
Child 3: Edward Spink born 9 September 1855 in Hepburn, Daylesford, Victoria
Child 4: Caroline Spink born 1857 in Hepburn, Daylesford, Victoria
At some time Edward Spink (Snr) “left” and Sarah Spink (nee Chillman), had a relationship with Angus Millar and
had 8 children together (all born in Daylesford, Victoria) although they never married, viz Thomas (born 1859),
William (born 1861), David (about 1865), Margaret (born 1866), Angus (born 1868) Catherine (born 1871, Richard
(born 1873) and Eliza (born 1875).
The births of these children were registered with a variety of surnames including Millar, Chillman/Chilman, Spink
and Spinks, although they all used the name “Millar” in their adult lives.
Sarah died in Daylesford Vic in 1877 aged 44 of 'Fibris Typhoides'.

Robert Chillman married Mary Elsworth Dec qtr. 1848 at Marylebone, London, England.
In the 1851 Census Richard, together with his brother Robert, was living at “White Wall House”, Sutton, Yorkshire,
and working as a stable boy for John Scott “a trainer of race horses”.
In the 1871 Census Richard, together with his wife Mary, was living in North Street, Leatherhead, with his twice
widowed mother Elizabeth Chapman, (formerly Chillman nee Darton/Dalton). His occupation was given as horse
trainer.
He was last recorded in the 1881 census living with his wife at 32 Hawthorn Grove, Croydon and working as a Groom.
