        1797: Birth:    Simeon Scard was baptised at Cerne Abbas, Dorset on the 1st October 1797, the youngest child and sixth son of 
                                            William Scard and his wife Margaret nee Groves. He is considered the namesake of his paternal grandfather
                                           Simeon Groves, Yeoman of Cerne Abbas.  The Ancient Church of his baptism, later his marriage and further the 
                                           baptism of his only child was dedicated to the Saint Mary the blessed Virgin and had stood in Cerne Abbas since 1317.

                     1819      At the age of twenty two Simeon traveled 10 miles East of Cerne to Mapperton where he, with Fanny Holt, was witness
                                   to the marriage of his brother James to Esther White on the 20th February 1819.
 
                     1823       In 1823 a lease was signed by a Scard Family member of Cerne from the River's Estate comprising a messuage, yard
                                    and buildings. William's father was aged seventy likely too old to commit to a lease for such a large property.
                                    Simeon may have been the holder of the Lease.  [Further investigations are in progress]

        1825      Marriage;
                                   At the age of twenty-eight Simeon married Mary Furber, fourteen years his senior, aged forty-two by Licence in 1825; 

                                                     Simeon Scard, bachelor of Cerne Abbas and Mary Furber, spinster of Cerne Abbas 
                                                     married 17th January 1825 at Cerne Abbas.
                                                     Witnesses: Thomas Furber & Margery Furber [DOPC] 
                                                    His father was aged 72yrs at this time.
                                                    * The writer has copies of Original Marriage Licenses dated from 1740 and the cost of a Licence could vary up to £200 or more.

                                                     Mary Furber was born at Buckland Newton, Dorset, baptised 23rd June 1783 the daughter of James Furber 
                                                     and his wife Anne.    Mary had several younger siblings, all baptised at Buckland Newton. 
                                                     Witnesses to her marriage to Simeon Scard were two of her recorded siblings, Thomas & Margery.

                    Known Issue;
                                  Simeon and Mary had only one known child, a son, Simeon Scard baptised 17th April 1828 at Cerne son of Simeon & Mary. [DOPC]

                    1829      Simeon's brother William Scard [the younger] dies prematurely; [father aged 76yrs]

                                   William Scard [the younger] was buried on the 25th June 1829 recorded 'age 39' years, noted of Duck Street, Cerne Abbas, [DOPC]

                    1829      Death of Simeons' father; 
                                   William Scard was buried at Cerne Abbas four months after his son William; 
                                                    'William Scard buried 5th October 1829 'of Dorchester Road, Cerne Abbas' aged 78.'

                                                     William Scard was survived his wife Margaret aged 73 of forty-nine years marriage 
                                                     and by four of his eight children; Robert [married] aged 45, Elizabeth [married] aged 44, 
                                                     James [married] aged 36, Simeon [married] aged thirty-two, sixteen grandchildren issuing 
                                                     from his sons and assumed one grandson by his only surviving daughter Elizabeth.

                    1837:  Death of Simeon's mother; 
                               Margaret Scard [nee Goves] was buried at St. Mary the Virgin, Cerne Abbas on the 24th January 1837 
                               at the recorded age of 81 years [NBI-FHO].

                    1831  Simeon takes on an apprentice;

                                        My thanks to EileenH who prompted me to research further 'in my own backyard' and 
                                        Charles Henry Scard's parents and lineage are now detailed above with further details 
                                        uncovered for Charles below;
                                        Charles Henry Scard made his way to Australia before 1909 [probably working en-route]. 
                                        He was first Documented working on the Steamer 'Wyreema' from Port of Brisbane to Sydney run.
                                        Note:  This was the occupation of John Scard of Sydney [Gosport Lineage] who arrived in Australia 
                                                    around 1838 and who worked on the Steamer 'Sovereign' before 1848 on the very same route. 
                                                    John was the grandfather of Herbert Thomas Scard who enlisted with Charles
                                                         [WWI 1915] both at Casula, Sydney.
