                                  WRIGHT ATMER Marriage 1818 at Wells next the sea Norfolk

                  Sarah Atmer was baptised at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk 9th March 1793 the daughter of William Atmer and his wife
                  Theodosia [nee Self] her mother's maiden name noted on the Parish Record. Sarah's family were living at Wells
                  for some time where her father was a respected Citizen. The family were noted in many documents as Inn Keepers,
                  Victuallers and Malsters. See the Biography of her parents William Atmer and his wife Theodosia Self

                  The couple may have returned to East Winch after the marriage, a isolated baptism for Frances Wright, father Thomas Wright,
                  a farmer, with no mother's name was recorded at All Saints, East Winch on the 16th June 1820. The infant daughter was
                  recorded buried on the same day, at the same venue 16th June 1820 no details of parents were given on this document. There
                  are no other baptisms recorded at East Winch and Thomas and Sarah appear to have returned to Wells next the Sea where Sarah
                  had family.

                  Issue; [recorded at Wells next the Sea]
                  Thomas Wright baptised at on the 3rd July 1822 at Wells next the Sea.
                  Sarah Wright baptised 30th December 1824 at Wells [died at Wells aged five].
                  Francis William Wright baptised 28th June 1828 at Wells [This would be the child aged 10 on the 1841 Census i.e. 'William'].
                  In all three baptisms their father Thomas was recorded as a farmer and their mother as Sarah Theodosia nee Atmer.

1830 A Thomas Wright was noted as an Innkeeper of the 'Fleece Inn' at Wells next the sea in 1830. It is considered that Sarah and
                  her brother or family may have encouraged Thomas to try his hand at Inn Keeping, this change in occupation does not appear
                  to have lasted long. Farming appears to have been given up entirely and within the following 10 years he had opted for the
                  occupation of 'Fisherman'.

1831 Their daughter Sarah was buried at St. Nicholas Wells on the 24th November 1831, her parents named on the Parish Record and
                  her age given as six years old. [a result of an accident, details may be given to family members on enquiry]

1841 Census;
                 Thomas and his family were recorded on the 1841 Census as living at Saithe Street, Wells next the Sea;
                 Thomas was now recorded as 'a fisherman' aged 45; Sarah aged 41, Thomas their son recorded aged 19 and William noted aged ten
                  assumed to be 'Francis William' their youngest son.

Thomas Dies:
               Thomas Wright died of 'Fever' on the 13th October 1844 and was buried four days later on the 17th October 1844.
               His burial at Wells next the Sea Norfolk recorded him as "married, aged fifty-two" which is considered to be accurate.
               His death registration details appear to be given by his nurse Frances Allen who gives his age as fifty-six.
               There does not appear to be a connection between the Allen, Wright or Atmer Families at Wells.

                                  WRIGHT Thomas DEATH Certificate 1844

Sarah Wright [nee Atmer];
              After her spouse's death Sarah and her eldest son moved to London. Sarah lived with her son till after the 1861 Census when
              she was recorded aged seventy [rounded] , born at Great Yarmouth. Sarah Theodosia Wright [recorded under her full name] died
              in the March Qtr 1865 at Poplar Middlesex, at the unrecorded age of seventy-two. It is assumed she was still living with her son
              Thomas who was the licenced victualler at the Trinity Arms Inn at Poplar at this time. See the Biography of her son Thomas.

Thomas Wright [the younger]; Son of Thomas & Sarah Theodosia Wright;
              After his father's death in 1844 Thomas and his mother moved to London where in 1851 he married Fanny Ashurst of Brighton,
              Sussex. More information can be accessed in a separate page relating to his marriage.

Francis William Wright: Son of Thomas & Sarah Theodosia Wright;
              Francis appears on the 1841 Census, as William Wright aged ten [rounded] living with his parents Thomas & Sarah and elder
              brother Thomas. From later evidence, he appears to have had issue. See photo of his possible son in the Biography of William's
              brother Thomas [the younger].
